Dear short answers:
I find myself alone, and faced with a big life change and perhaps a move away from the area I have lived a forced hermit lifestyle (due to health issues) for many years.  As a general rule, is it better to re-locate to a completely new area or choose to return to one of the places where one was happy many years before, but have no real ties?

Dear Drift:
General rules:
1) It it is better to go to something — not just some place.  It doesn’t matter whether it’s a job, a lifestyle or a person.  In other words — go with a wish for yourself, not just to escape.
2) Old haunts are generally haunted.
3) Visit for a month at least before committing.
