Building a 75-Year Plan

Dear Short Answers:
Two months ago I left an office job that I’d been at (mostly unhappily) for 2 and 1/2 years, for a new office job that I’m already not enjoying. I keep reminding myself of how fortunate I am to even have a job, but that doesn’t help to make this new job more fulfilling. I’m very hard-working, but I’m realizing more and more that working in an office is not for me. I’m in my mid-20′s. How long should I wait before looking for something new? Once I do begin looking for something new, what are some steps I can take to find a industry/career that I’ll enjoy?

Dear Drifting:
You already know that work is work if it’s just a job. Devote some serious thought to how you want to spend the rest of your life.  Dream big — you have many work years ahead of you.  If your dream requires more education- get on it!  Start your plan now.
