Doggish to a Fault…

Dear Short Answers:
I hate dogs. I am not afraid of them. I just hate them. I came home from work last week and my wife had bought a puppy for my two young kids. She told me it would be good for them. The kids love the dog and I don’t know what to do. I’m furious at my wife. She said she didn’t ask me because she knew what I would say. How do I get rid of the animal and teach my wife a lesson?
Mad Dad
Dear Mad:
We confess: we are hopelessly and shamelessly pro-dog. Although your wife was naughty in making this decision unilaterally … you have been gamed. If you get rid of the dog, you are the Cad Dad, however she definitely owes you a big one.

Just don’t let them see you kick it. Only kidding. I bet in 6 months that dog will be taking naps with you. They are impossible not to fall in love with.

I think the bigger problem here is that he wants to teach his wife a lesson. Unless he’s a profeesor married to a student, this seems a little out of place in their realtionship.

Really? You would put your need for getting your wife back higher on the list than being tolerant of the dog for your childrens benefit.
I hate the way my wife allows my stepdaughter to act like a spoiled brat savage toward me and then consoles her “precious and delicate little feelings” the stepdaughter is 20 years old, maybe I can get my wife back by kicking the stepdaughter out and forbiding her to return. Yeah..that should fix it.
